The Director, also known as Marian Janssen, was the Director of Itexicon, and its research and development companies. She spearheaded the By-Half Plan.

The Angel Experiment[]
When Angel first wakes up at the School, a whitecoat mentions a precept report about the Flock from someone called the Director.
Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports[]
When Max, Nudge, and Angel enter Itexicon's headquarters, a woman is speaking on several television screens. After going through German, French, Spanish, Italian, and Japanese speeches, they get to English. The woman is saying that they have commenced , and that all the useless people are being eliminated as the mutants watch. The mini-Flock is caught while trying to contact Fang, and taken to her office. The woman introduces herself as the Director and Max's mother.
Max was devastated, not wanting to believe that her mother could be a person this evil. While the Flock was in the dungeon after refusing to cooperate, Jeb asked Max questions, pointing out that as the Director's daughter she would be powerful. When Max passed his tests, he told her that he was her father, and Dr. Valencia Martinez was her real mother.
The Director was the main announcer during Itexicon's mutant showcase, and moderated the duel between Max and Omega, constantly finding fault with Max. During the battle, Max lifted her high into the air, threatening to drop her until the Director admitted that she wasn't Max's mother, and confirmed that her mother was Dr. Martinez.
The Director's fate after this is unknown, but Itexicon was exposed and lost its influence on the world.
Personality[]
The Director showed signs of delusions of grandeur and lack of empathy. She saw Max as a daughter figure, having overseen her creation and engineered her design and development.
Trivia[]
- In her last scene, the Director claims that she is spliced with a Galapagos Tortoise, and that she is 107 years old. If Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports takes place in the same year as The Angel Experiment (2005 or 2006) then this means that she was born in 1898.
