McCallum Children's home is a children's home in the City of the Dead. Kids are often taken from the Children's Home to be experimented on, so Hawk, Rain, Moke, Clete, and Calypso are the only kids left, though they later leave.
Interior[]
Hawk has stated that she and her friends usually sleep in a closet full of soft things she has collected. The other room is described as "a big, depressing space with a couple of tables, a bunch of chairs, and some broken furniture that the orderlies had stashed here." The walls are tinged with yellow and gray, and have splashes of dark brown.
Because kids at the McCallum Children's Home are often taken away to be experimented on, Hawk and her friends made numerous escape routes, such as a hole chipped into the wall behind a bookcase, a trapdoor, and a loose ceiling tile so that someone can jump into the ceiling.
Exterior[]
There is a metal gate that makes a rusty, scraping whine when being opened. There is one tree in the yard, which Hawk describes as "a decrepit wreck that was going to fall over any day now."
