Gozen was unlike anything we'd come up against before. He was bigger, faster, human enough to be subtle but machine enough to have no conscience. I did think he was probably too heavy to fly, so yay for that.

Gozen was one of the soldiers working for the Uber-Director in The Final Warning.

History[]

Gozen served as the personal bodyguard to the Uber-Director. During the events of The Final Warning, Gozen was sent to Antarctica with an army of robotic foot soldiers nicknamed Transformer-bots to capture Max and the Flock. They brought them to an office building in Miami, where Gozen guarded the Flock and served as personal bodyguard to the Uber-Director.

In the hurricane that destroyed the building, Gozen attempted to hold the Uber-Director together and keep them from being blown into the storm. Max kicked Gozen away and he was lost in the hurricane. He is presumed dead.

Personality[]

Gozen is a violent, ruthless killer; one of the Uber-Director's human assistants noted that he had seen Gozen snatch a songbird from the air and casually break its neck. Gozen seems pleased when he tells the Flock that killing is his "life" and what he "was created to do."

Otherwise Gozen acts humorless, stiff and robotic, seeming unable to smile. Max calls him "the Incredible Humorless Hulk". He follows the Uber-Director's orders without question.

Appearance[]

Clearly they had gotten this guy from Frank-n-steins R Us. ... He gave an impression of being chunked together from different alien species, and somehow it seemed even worse than Ari's awful wings, sewn into his back.

–Max, The Final Warning

He was a cyborg that was nearly seven feet tall, weighing somewhere around three hundred pounds. He was compared to Frankenstein's monster, being made out of different human body parts stitched together. To Max, he looked like he had been sewn together from different alien species.

His face was seemingly human, but he had bolts visible in his jawbone beneath the skin, and he had glowing, inhuman blue eyes. A metal plate covered part of his bare skull where his creators couldn't get skin to grow.

One arm was disproportionately large, a foot longer than the other. He had metal spikes grafted onto the knuckle bones. His other arm was slightly green as if from poor circulation, as well as incredibly muscled and veiny - the result of hormone injections.

He spoke in a stilted way with strange inflections. His voice was metallic, compared to "an automated answering machine" by Max and "a tape of a human voice played too slowly" by one of the Uber-Director's assistants.

He could not form most facial expressions, such as smiles, but he did have the ability to look horrified.

Trivia[]

  • Nudge thought Gozen's name was Gyoza, but Fang told her that those were Japanese dumplings.
  • Gozen acted as leader over the Transformer-bots, or GoBots, on at least one mission.
