I chose to read maximum ride for the dystopian unit in my ela class and... uh.
Ive only read the first two novels, so i definitely dont have the strongest right to say this but this series kinda sucks booty cheeks ngl
The second book is way better than the first one at least. the first book is a whole bunch of plot filler. the flock meets the erasers, they fight, they maybe get captured, but then they escape. THIS LITERALLY IS THE ONLY SINGLE THING THAT HAPPENS IN THE ENTIRETY OF THE BOOK OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
THERE ARE SO MANY UNNECESSARY EVENTS THAT HAPPEN THAT JUST NEVER HAVE AN ACTUAL IMPORTANCE TO THE STORY
AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF, JAMES PATTERSON WAS A 60 YEAR OLD DUDE BACK THEN WRITING A 14 YEAR OLD GIRL AND IT SHOWS 😭😭😭😭
And it was so difficult to do my ela project on this book cuz its barely a dystopian novel like THE PUBLIC ISNT EVEN AFFECTED BY THE SCHOOL, ITS JUST THESE RANDOM 6 KIDS LIKE IT LITERALLY DOESNT MATTER RRAAAAHHHHH
Max is annoying and also i read that max and fang have a kid. wtf. they literally refer to each other as brother and sister what in the Alabama is this
Sorry for the text wall but i really had to express my opinions about this book (this isn't even all of them) or else i was gonna explode
But actually, the series is so cringy and poorly written that i wanna keep reading
So congrats i guess Patterson actually did something right
